For flute schools

For flute schools that want a personal pace per student

Embed sheet music, études per level, breath exercises as routine. For classical, jazz, pop and chamber music, one platform across your whole student roster.

Why flute schools choose us

①

Études per level

Trevor Wye, Marcel Moyse and Köhler études as assignments, organised by level. Each one you score shows how far a student has come.

②

Breath exercises + long tones

Daily breath routines with a video demo as an assignment. Students log practice time with the timer and mark the assignment as practised; you see routine adherence over weeks.

③

Chamber music sessions

Schedule duo and quartet group lessons. Teach Mode shows the score on one screen in the room; each flutist practises their own part at home.

What else is in there?

✓
Real-time Teach Mode

Put your lesson on a second screen in the lesson room. You pick the block, your student sees it big.

✓
Recurring lesson schedule

Weekly recurring slots, holidays and cancellations, all managed from one calendar.

✓
Gamification for students

Streaks, badges and a practice timer. Students practise more because they want to.

✓
Progress tracking

Per-student overview of what they practised, where they struggle and where they flow.

Software for flute schools in practice

Flute playing starts with sound. Before technique and repertoire there is breath, embouchure and tone, and that needs daily attention long after the first lesson. Musicdott is flute teacher software that turns tone and breathing work into a routine, keeps études and repertoire organised by level, and supports chamber music.

Tone and breath as a daily routine

Long tones, harmonics and breathing exercises only work if students do them every day. Record a short video demonstration once and set it as an assignment. Students start a practice session with the timer and can mark the assignment as practised once a day, so a daily routine shows up as a streak. With “Ask your teacher” they can send you a short video, so you hear the tone between lessons.

Études and repertoire by level

Upload études, whether Köhler, Andersen, Moyse or your own selection, as PDF, or attach MusicXML to a song in your repertoire. Organise lessons into categories by level and assign the next piece when a student is ready. Each piece is an assignment you score from “still needs practice” to “can apply it”.

If you prepare students for graded exams, set scales, pieces and sight-reading as separate assignments. Musicdott has no exam-board integration; you set up the path yourself.

Classical and contemporary side by side

Lessons are free-form, so one student can work on a Baroque sonata and a pop melody in the same week. Add a YouTube block with a slower playback speed and a loop for a jazz phrase, or slow down a recording with the free slow down audio tool. Musicdott doesn't include flute fingering charts; upload your own as an image or PDF if you use them.

Chamber music, recitals and admin

For a flute choir or a wind trio, put the students in a group, schedule a fixed group lesson and show the score on a second screen with Teach Mode. Recitals are events with a programme and RSVPs. Scheduling, student records and the parent portal are included.

Teach Mode and practice between lessons

In the lesson room, Teach Mode shows the étude, a video of the passage or a metronome on a second screen, paired by scanning a QR code, so the music sits at reading height instead of on a phone balanced on the stand. You choose from your own screen what appears, and YouTube stays in sync when you stop to demonstrate.

Between lessons, students find the same material in their student portal. Practice minutes, the assignments they marked as practised and your scores give you a clear picture before each lesson, and parents follow along in the parent portal, with one login for siblings. The free online tuner and metronome help with intonation and a steady tempo at home.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work for both classical and contemporary music?

Yes. A student can run a classical track and a jazz/pop track in parallel. Lessons are free-form, the platform doesn't impose a genre.

Does Musicdott include flute fingering charts?

No. You can upload your own fingering chart as an image or PDF, or demonstrate the fingering in a video block.
