Software for band schools in practice
Band coaching is a craft of its own. You have four or five students in one room, each with their own instrument, their own level and their own part, and in a few weeks they need to play a set together. For each song you build a single lesson with what every band member needs: the drum groove as a GrooveScribe block, a chord sheet with lyrics for guitar, keys and vocals, and a Guitar Pro tab for the bassist. Underneath, the original recording as a YouTube or Spotify block. Everyone works from the same source, and when you change the arrangement, the new version is there for the whole band straight away.
In the rehearsal room: Teach Mode on the big screen
During rehearsal, Teach Mode puts a TV or second screen in the room to work. You choose from your own screen which block the band sees: the chord chart for the verse, the groove for the drummer or a video of a live version. YouTube stays in sync when you pause or rewind, so you can listen to a transition together without everyone staring at their phones.
Every band member practises their own part
Put the band in a group and assign the song lesson to everyone at once, while practice and scores stay per student. The drummer gets the chorus fill as an assignment, the guitarist the solo, the singer the harmony line. At home they mark each assignment as practised, and before rehearsal you can see who has done their homework. Hard sections can be practised at half speed with a video loop, or with the free slow down audio and online metronome tools.
After rehearsal you score each band member on a fixed scale from “still needs practice” to “can apply it”. You can see at a glance why a song isn't working yet: not because the whole band can't play it, but because the bridge isn't there yet for one part. That makes the next rehearsal far more focused, and stops the strongest players waiting around for the rest.
Repertoire, gigs and scheduling
Songs you've prepared once stay in your repertoire, ready for a new band next term. For the end-of-term gig you create an event with a running order, and students and parents RSVP.
